We are expecting a litter on March 4th 2007. If you are interested in adopting please get in touch with us soon.
Heritage Hills is a small, family run kennel in the rich farmlands of Southern Ontario, Canada.
We breed on a limited scale, perhaps a litter or so a year. This ensures the health and welfare of our breeding terriers as well as helps to foster the best possible outcomes for our puppies. They receive lots of attention. All pups are raised in our home and kept with our breeding and pet dogs. Breeding parents are tested and proven free of genetic defects and are sound in temperament. Our goal is to raise and place healthy puppies in permanent homes where they will be loved and valued like the dogs at Heritage Hills.
The average lifespan of an American Hairless Terrier is 12 to 15 years. We try to match the size of the dog and temperament as best as we can with the adopting family, so both the family and the puppy will be as happy as possible and placed for life. We do require you to fill out an application before adopting a puppy.
We came upon the breed after searching and trialling other non-allergic breeds of dogs. We seemed to be unsuccessful with them all. With multiple family members suffering from severe allergies and asthma, the American Hairless Terrier was our last stop. Once we had located a breeder, we made several visits to them. All our allergy trials showed only minimal reactions, so we went forward with our plan to adopt.
Since then,we have fallen in love with this breed of dogs and have acquired others. The initial small reaction seemed to dissipate over time, so all the licking and cuddling does not affect any of us at all.
The American Hairless Terrier is a breed suitable for most people with allergies. We are always available though to do an allergy trial with prospective families.
We will now introduce you to our breeding dogs.
